Age 58, of Annapolis, MD, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2004 at home after a long illness. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Calvary Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake or to a charity of one's choosing. Ms. Winchell was born in Flint, MI on March 8, 1946 to Bruce and Betty Winchell, who have preceded her in death. She was a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She became a graphic artist and then publisher/owner of "Lifestyles Pittsburgh." She married architect David G. Ewing on July 12, 1986 in Pittsburgh. They retired in 1997 to Annapolis, MD, and toured extensively in their sailboat "Cherette" along the east coast, in Florida and the Bahamas. She is survived by husband, David; daughters, Jennifer L. Pienkoski of Hollywood, CA, Mrs. Kristen (James) Volosky of Apollo, PA; step-children, Mrs. Jacqueline (Richard) Marzella of Philadelphia, PA and Mrs. Edward (Blair) Ewing of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren; brother, R. Bruce Winchell of Bridgeport, MI; and sister, Mrs. Louise (David) Williams of Holly, MI and many nieces and nephews. Ms. Winchell was active in many charitable and support activities, such as Breast Cancer Support groups, sailing clubs, Appalachia Service Project through Calvary Methodist Church, quilting and needlework groups, and Georgetown Bahamas Public Library. She was known by many as being first to help friends and strangers alike. She was loved and will be missed by all.
