John, better known in AHHS as "Drew" and I were best friends in school. We hung out together and what one of us didn't think of to get into trouble the other did. I went with Drew and his parents on their boat up through Georgian Bay and the North Channel of Canada the summer before our senior year and what a great time we both had.
You are missed, my friend. Your courageous battle with cancer was a long one that you kept winning but it won in the end as it often does.
Drew was one of our group that would go cruising on Friday and Saturday nights. One year his dad, Max, brought home a Chevy 409. We went cruising in the middle of winter and Drew was so nervous that he had all the windows rolled down and had his coat off. He was sweating and the rest of us froze our butts off. Fortunately, we had been getting together the last several years, so I did get to see him before he died. He fought hard for several years. We all will miss him. There are many memories.
