Rick and I were good friends in elementary and jr. high at North. His mother was our Cub Scout den leader.  I lost track of Rick in high school. He was a great guy from a great family.

Rick was an excellent oboist. He performed with a woodwind (wind) quintet we formed at Arthur Hill. We were a winner in the Germania Club of Saginaw's talent quest. He held a MM degree in oboe performance while teaching in Canada. He, too, played all the woodwind instruments. The head of the music department there says, Rick passed away on March 16, 2004. He was a mentor to many of us. He and I worked very closely together for many years. He was a faculty member and Head of Winds and Brass and past chair of Music at MacEwan University (which was at that time Grant MacEwan Community College) from 1975 (I think) until his passing. His passing was heart related and he left a widow and an adopted son. He was 57.
