Larry was A wonderful kid. We grew up together as children and attended grade school and high school together. You have been missed by many. Thank you for your service in the VIETNAM WAR.

per larry's obit:   Larry passed away Wednesday July 18, 2001 at Uof M hospital after a brief illness of pulmonary fibrosis.  Age 55 years.  Larry Eldon Engel was born June 26, 1946 in Saginaw, graduated 1964AHHS then attended barber school.  He served with the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969 in Vietnam from 1968 until his discharge.   Received Bachelor of Arts Degree from SVSU, Master's in Administration of Elementary Schools fromCMU and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from WMU.  He taught at Longview Elementary in Midland, served as pricipal at Reese and East Kelloggsville Schools.  He then served as Supt. of New Lothrop, Swan Valley and Saginaw SD.  Later was employed as Director of Charter Schools at SVSU.  Currently was co owner of QPRG as an improvement specialist.  member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.  Member of Knights of Columbus #8808Saginaw and New Lothrop VFWpost 6579. Member of numerous professional organization related to educational leadership. He was a member and past chair of the Saginaw County Business Education Partnership, Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce, Bridge center for racial harmony and Shields Kiwanis as well as  a board member on the Hartley Foundation Board.  He married Catherine Martin August 21, 1971 she survives him.  He also leaves one son Jamie, Daughter Jennifer and her husband Nicholas  Casale and 3 grandchildren, one sister JoAnn Engel all of Saginaw.Burial in Oakwood
