Robert Joseph Beckley of Saginaw Twp. passed away peacefully June 10, 2008 at Covenant Healthcare Cooper with his family at his side. Age 61 years. Born Sept. 12, 1946 in Saginaw. He was President of Beckley Equipment in Saginaw. He leaves his wife Anne and children Sarah and Susan.
Bob was a friend and neighbor on Coolidge Street in the Township throughout my early years. He was a talented businessman and a worthy soul, gone too soon. I am saddened to learn of his early passing. He certainly deserved more years.
Bob was my good friend from third grade on. I lived on the corner of Lathrup and Jameson. He lived on the next corner, Coolidge and Jameson. We always had a neighborhood game going on summer nights, baseball or kick the can. Sometimes we were up to no good! Lots of innocent fun. Bob was the best! Miss him. Gone too soon.
